and too few paragraphs

Why is it that more and more people are eschewing the use of the paragraph these days?

Writing in single sentences but about the same topic line after line, sentence after sentence is akin to being poked in the forehead by the author as he clumsily blurts his dull point at the reader.

Surely it isn't too difficult to embrace the entire idea in the form of a paragraph and structure it in such a way that the piece has some rhythm and natural flow?

Simply blurting out standalone sentences is rather a vulgar and lazy way to write is it not?

Forming one's thoughts and ideas in the form of a paragraph allows the writer to convey a sense of spirit and done well, can sear those thoughts forever in the mind of the reader.

It may be however that this is what is taught in our schools these days.

If this is the case then the blame lies with the body that sets the National Curriculum and not the teachers.

Don't shoot the messenger after all.

That would be pointless.

RIP Paragraphs.
