My brothers and I had not long seen Escape to Victory, I'm 4 years younger than them...

and we young back then, my mum was alive and she died when I was 11, so would have been about 8 or so when we went and visited Uncle Bob. Anyway, my brother tried to explain who hitler was but I was too young to grasp it and simply took it as a sign to do to soldiers. When we came out the gates there the two guards saluted my uncle and I did a hitler sign out the back window. We had a fab day at a place which looks like a huge half golf ball - think it was a museum, playing on the monkey ropes and seeing the statue of the boy doing a wee, only to get a huge old telling off in the evening - more an educational talk now I look back as the german chaps complained. I honestly didn't understand at all what I'd done, taken very very seriously there isn't it whatever your age!
