It *was* used excellently by his PR team, as time and time again the impression was given that the CCRC application was an appeal against his conviction and they managed to divert a lot of attention from the fact that the CoA had already dismissed an appeal against his conviction.

Shrug. We've all re-hashed the debate around the original conviction on the original evidence, so until the new evidence comes to light I don't think anyone is going to change their view.
