The simple (and rather sad - welcome to modern football) truth is that we have won more games this season playing in the more defensive style than we have playing the more attacking one (there's surely a reason managers who have a reputation for never getting relegated - Pulis/Allardyce - almost never play attacking football). Maybe we'd have added one to that total if not for mistakes by two stand-in defenders, which is hardly tactics-related.
