Flew one in ?nam in 1965 during the Battle of Bồng Sơn, me and Jack ?Lonesome? Jones were

seconded to the US 1st Cavalry Division at Camp Radcliff in An Khe, helping to maintain their fleet of UH-1Ds, mainly the straps on the inside.

One night we got called up for a black op over the Binh Dinh plain - Lonesome was so nogginspazzed on a heady cocktail of Peruvian Blue, shorthorse and whack tablets that he fell out, right over the side, landing in a field near Trại giam Kim Sơn.

A small group of tedious German walkers that used sticks found him in 1987 living in a woman?s hut. He was dressed as a very thin baby, his feet submerged in a bowl of profiteroles and was surrounded by shrapnel and some goats.
