And you can run the same "more people watch the men's 100m final than the women's 100m final". It doesn't wash.

If you want to go down that road, pay everyone 10p per viewer and be done with it. Then some men will earn more than some women, some women will earn more than some men. But there is no justification for paying men more just because they are men.
