it's a massive game of 'It' where they chase each other across the playground and shout 'Avalanche' when they catch someone.
I feel for the boys at break time. They have ridiculous amounts of energy and just want to run and run but they can see NO DANGER whatsoever and so us grown ups have to step in to protect the littler ones.
We too have banned ball games - really reluctantly I might add but the problems they caused were horrendous.
Alongside the damage to windows and other children from their wayward shots, we had to deal with constant arguments and upsets. The most alpha male of the group would insist on hogging the ball - never passing, taking every free kick/throw in/pelanty. This would lead to massive arguments, fights, tantrums, tears. We'd then get parents coming and complaining. It just want worth it!
If only boys liked those hand clapping games or skipping!
