it was a bit more tricky to get Kodi onto an Amazon device

you put the Amazon Fire TV on the same home network as a PC.

Then put some free software on the PC which allows you to connect to the Fire TV.

Then you can use the PC to upload the Fire TV Kodi app to the Fire TV.

Then Kodi is listed under the Apps on the Fire TV.
