and he was in a no-win situation 1v1 with Aguero. If he would have committed to a tackle and Aguero skipped past him, it would have been even worse.

Presumably Neil prefers Brady because he wants to have his cake and eat it! He wants Brady to do a job defensively and carry an attacking threat - allowing us to play an extra CM. But ultimately it ends up weakening our defence and not getting the most out of Brady going forward. It would be great to see Brady playing with very few defensive responsibilites.
