Most of the time I don't think he's actively detrimental like (say) Derveld was ...

... but I'm completely at a loss as to what he actually contributes in a really crucial area of the park. There have been a couple of times where he's made mistakes that have cost us goals but to an extent that's bad luck - if the ball hadn't ended up in the net v Sheff Wed or Crewe everyone would've forgotten about it.

The phoney clapping / badge-kissing thing really does wind me up, though.
