Having looked at he fixtures, not sure I agree

The 11 league games we played Aug to Oct were a much easier run, particularly the home games. Every single one was potentially winnable but we picked up just 4 pts from the 5 games. And we only played two of the big clubs in that run. The run also included two completely abject away performances to Newcastle and Southampton, but also two creditable efforts against Liverpool and Man City.

The recent 9 game losing streak has contained much tougher fixtures. Home games against Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham and Chelsea. None of those you would look at and say they were an easy, probable 3 pts. The away games are debatable in terms of toughness, but the no show vs Bournemouth was a big dissapointment as was the pretty poor effort against Villa. And we all know about GON's brain fart against Stoke.

I do share your perception that the first bit of the season was better, but maybe that was an accident of who we were playing. And we've had the odd no show spread through the whole season.
