I think we sacked him way too late, so given how pointless it as sacking him at that point we may as well have kept him.

Similar situation this time - too late to be worth sacking AN now and he'll be ok in the Champs. I'm not even convinced someone like Moyes would make a difference here now, in the unlikely event they chose to come

I guess the problem with keeping a relegated manager is they have maybe half a dozen games to avoid losing the fans, which probably isn't long enough to get the team to adapt back to the Championship and bed in new players, so it's potentially a poisonous start to the season unless we hit the ground running. AN may be given longer this time around but Hughton would have been torn apart.
