The club needs a reality check tbh. The new tv money has warped the English transfer market so much that you just can't lowball other clubs anymore. They're not going to cash in for less than a big fee when keeping their players means they have a greater chance of promotion which is worth far more than most transfer fees. It's just naive doing business like that when it can alert other clubs and just wastes time where the manager can be working on training the new players and team. If we really want a player of true quality from the English market, we are going to have to spend fairly big.
