I can't think of any manager who we could appoint that would be a significant improvement on Neil at the moment. Certainly there is no-one available that would give us a better than evens chance at staying up. If there was an obvious name, then I think Neil would be under a lot more pressure.

Neil has positives as well. We know that he isn't hopeless, especially not in the Champ, and continuity is important, so I'd stick with him for now. Also the players are clearly still playing for him.
