Just take 5 minutes to stop crying on the internet to show him how to use it properly

eg changing the speed down if he wants to unscrew something, how to drill a hole properly, why you should secure a free piece of wood before drilling into it, why you shouldn't just drill into any old bit of wall.

If you take it, or ask mum to take it away, you'll look like the baddie. No, simply make no biggie about it to him, show him what to do, why, and let him show you he can do it, then leave him to knock f**k out of your exes house.
Hell, maybe get him round to help with some DIY project. He'll feel ten feet tall and strong as an ox if you let him help make something.
