other countries wouldn't leave though

because most don't have the economic power of Britain to go it alone - it would be complete suicide for them economically.

And then Britain would gradually get marginalised. It would have to go along with EU decisions and policies - as that would still be the main trading partner - but it would have no possibility of influencing them.
