So what? there will always be trends of overachieving and underachieving

that's obvious. When we were in League 1 we were clearly underachieving. these things balance out over time.
so should Swansea be content to be relegated this season? of course not.
Sunderland and Newcastle have been long term underachievers. and we have perfect opportunity to finish above them this season if we can ever sort our defence out.
