No one can be expected to provide maximum quality, at maximum speed and with minimum funding, and then be blamed for a drop in any of those unrealistic demands, something has to give.
Either put more into the profession in terms of resources, including training up more doctors, more in terms of pay, certainly NOT less! (but even then it comes to a point where pay increases don't make doctors less exhausted and prone to make mistakes) or expect a reduction in the quality of care.
If the govt stick to their guns and refuse to compromise, then when patients start dying more often, they can't (but probably still will try to) blame the medical profession who they are really badly managing
