Tim & the auctioneer suggested it was a repro. Either they're wrong

or someone's not been very clever. I bought a box of oriental stuff once; there were a couple of metal inro in it (different types) which I would have sworn were a couple of hundred years old. When I googled them there were dozens of identical images - just those two types ...

I saw a dealer receive a consignment of bronzes from China. All beautifully patinated, well cast, European subjects.
I don't think the dealer put the age or country of origin on the labels ...

Be careful out there.
