There were murmurings of this when the Premier League

was first set up. I'm pretty certain the likes of Robert Chase and Doug Ellis (two of the leading protagonists) saw relegation as a threat to their 'investments' and I think that's how foreign owners see the current promotion and relegation. If you take Randy Lerner at Villa, he's now faced with losing money if they get relegated. Without it of course the club probably increases in value. Like many of you though, the day it happens is the end of football for me.
