Tablet advice please

My Dad's wife is after a tablet. She wants a 10inch screen but is really only going to use it in the most basic of ways - checking emails, maybe browsing the web etc.

Can anyone recommend a decent one that'll do the job? I can just see them spending more than they need to on a tablet that does way more than she is capable of doing on it if they go off and pick one themselves!
