anyone of sufficient quality to potentially get them out of such a dire situation is going to turn their nose up at joining a club in such a dire situation. So pretty much impossible to get anyone better than what they already have.

Let's face it, even players at most top half of the Championship sides would figure they had a better chance of playing in the Prem next season if they stay where they are rather than if they were to join Villa.
