Looking at Man City's goal last night though, the best way to help them is to increase the number of linos around the field. For a start, have 4 on the sides instead of 2, secondly add one behind each goal line, like in the Europa league, so 6 in total.
Thirdly, if you have 7 people around the pitch (including the ref) looking at the game, you shouldn't really need video evidence to make the big decisions - they all have a button and any/all of them can press to inform the ref of a decision - as Ref is the odd number, he always has the casting vote but if 3 of his support guys press the button for an offside or a penalty, there is little need for him to overrule so many of them. A little like a flag on the play in American Football but happens live (ala goal line technology), so no need to stop play. It'd take practice to get the timing right and for the ref to react (or overrule by not reacting) but if they are all professional, they have time to practice...
