because they had the best bunch of youth prospects in the country at the time, plus they had spent a lot of money that season and had more available. They had loads of potential to progress immediately, but Adkins was struggling.
I don't think our situation is anything like there's was at all.
If we were in Villa or even Sunderland's position (bottom three all season long and constantly a few points away from safety) then they might consider it. Points have been dropped here and there against mediocre teams where better selection choices and tactics would have prevented this, but it's not a massive amount.
With our poor squad and relative lack of money (look at how much Bournemouth and Newcastle have spent) I don't think we could have expected to do much better this season. Generally been outside of the bottom three, just got to finish the season that way.
