Over the past decade, whichever team has conceded the most goals over the season has gone down, every year. (Only slight wrinkle was 2006/07, when it was a tie between Charlton and Fulham - Charlton went down, Fulham didn't).
It's not quite us at the moment - Sunderland have conceded 3 more than us. But with Fat Sam there now, and the way we defended yesterday, you wouldn't bet too much on them still having conceded more than us at the end of the season, would you?
(As an aside, it's not as predictable that whoever scores the fewest goes down. Eg in 2012 and 2010, when the lowest scoring team survived both times.)
Ho hum. Let's hope Timm is good.
