Mulumbu isn't a sitting player though

Which means the defence wouldn't have had someone offering them the protection that Tettey does.

The bigger issue with Mulumbu is that he doesn't seem to be pushing for a first team place, regardless of the situation. It's easy to say Neil should play someone who isn't in the team, but there must be a good reason why he doesn't, despite signing the player.

Neil was playing two CDM's when he had them available. Neither were today.
