He's an all around mf player

Tackles, dribbles from deep, dictates the play, makes clever off the ball runs and contributes with goals and assists.

He's more of a technical player who will cover the whole pitch, rather than sit like Tettey generally does (barring the odd run).

I don't disagree that an in form Mulumbu would add a lot of qualities to the side. No doubt he's a better battler than Howson or Dorrans, but he's not a CDM like Tettey or GON. It takes more discipline, whereas Mulumbu was used to freely making runs at WBA and moving all about the pitch to help run the game.

Maybe he could perform the role if given a run of games, but AN obviously knows things that we don't. Might be a good reason why Pulis let him go on a free.
