In essence though, promotion to the premier league has solved our financial issues, not any kind of business or financial genius. Running a premier league club is a unique business in that you are handed ?70m of income on a plate regardless of how good your product is and at our club you also have a pretty much guaranteed level of income from the support as well.

He obviously appointed Lambert who got us to the premier league so gets credit for that. Probably even he could not have predicted how well that would work out for all concerned. He was certainly what we needed at that time. Now though I think there are pros and cons to his hard line approach.
