Totally agree, especially re. Palace

who are very similar to us in size and potential, so what's the big difference? Primarily it's the size of the squad. During the first half of the season they had a squad of 31 compared to our 23 (including 4 keepers). That's nearly another whole team. As a result, after starting not much better than us they have stabilised and now look nailed on the for playoffs. We've had more than our share of injuries but could have coped a great deal better with three or four more players in the squad. Some of those injuries were caused or aggravated by having to pick players who were not fit enough. We've been scratching around with emergency loans all season. After a year in the Prem we had the smallest squad in the Championship. Are we right and the other clubs all wrong? What message does this send out to everyone - players as well as fans - about the club's real ambitions?
