Wages

This argument of wages I am afraid does not wash with me.

It has always been said that we could not look at a top players on free transfer or a low transfer fee i.e. Charlie Austin 4M due to wages.

Well I look at it this way. If a player like Austin is available on a fee of say 4 Million then for every ?10,000 you pay him a week over the norm equates to around ?500,000 per year. So if you sign him on a 3 year deal and you pay a player ?15,000 per week over the norm then Then that player has in effect cost you 4 Million plus the 2,25 for extra wages,

So that player after three years cost you around the 6 - 6.5 million,

So my argument is that is we could get a player like Austin for this type of fee then is it not worth going for that rather than a player who is unproven in the premiership??
