Debate about squad quality

I really don't understand how anyone can think our current squad is good enough, whether it be in terms of quality or depth. Obviously I'm interested in other opinions whether they agree or not.

Looking at this situation, I think it's amazing how we've survived so far:

1 X natural lb who isn't up to par (some will disagree I'm sure but all players who don't play for a while suddenly become amazing) defensively, which forces Brady to lb and means we lack depth at LW and are stuffed if Jarvis is injured.

2 X natural cb's who generally aren't up to it either.

The other guy who plays there is a natural RB. We have a million, but none good enough unless Pinto can step up (please God).

Defensive options are terrible and it's made even worse when you consider our rookie (for this level) keeper has to adapt with that in front of him.

We ideally need two natural CDM's shielding the defence most weeks, but only have x 3. One is Mulumbu and for some reason that hasn't worked out. Makes sense why Pulis let him go for free if he's not fit enough or motivated. Tettey loves a yellow so will miss games and struggles to play two games in a week due to his knee, as does GON due to age as stated by AN.

Add in the striker situation (none true prem quality) and the lack of a RW with Redmond out of form, forcing Vadis or Howson to play there and again unbalancing the team. It's an awful squad barring LW (which is compromised due to LB) and creative mf options.

We need a LB, CB, RW, CDM (makes sense why we were linked to Jedinak) and CF IMO. Unfortunately I doubt we can bring in more than two, unless there's a quality loan option out there.

This is also why I'm at a loss to why we're chasing Naismith when we have players who can play in that number ten role. I doubt he will score the goals we need from a proper CF, so why not spend that money on a position where the squad is genuinely weak?

None of this exempts AN from blame today. He still could and should have rotated some of the starters. At least three could have come in to the side and we wouldnt have lost quality on paper IMO.
