Hales not looking like the solution to that opening slot

Have to say having seen him bat in one dayers I was always surprised at the clamour to see him open in test matches as he plays and misses a lot even when he has a good innings. Does not seem to have the temperament to leave the ball.

May well end up with Compton back opening and maybe Butler playing as a mid order batsman.
