Wrath Tech help required please

I want to get a new laptop to run R code, database queries (Access/SQL server too, possibly), complex Excel vba etc

Does anyone know which would be better in terms of the processor, one with an L2 (second level) cache of 2MB or one with an L3 cache of 3MB

And why please?

I'm not fused with using it for gaming etc, just internet, itunes, including watching movies etc, and the above.
