It's that he didn't want to and I suspect Bournemouth were offering big money.

We sold what was to all intents and purposes a bad apple for a club record transfer fee.

In theory, that should be worth a lot more to us than anything he can do for Bournemouth as, let's be honest, he just isn't that good. If they didn't buy him they might have competed with us for somebody else that we want, so much better that they take him and give us the money.
