People are not buying as many songs so record companies are not investing much in new talent.
Youngsters in bands from poorer backgrounds can't afford to play gigs far away from their local area due to the costs and having to split the money. They would make a loss whereas it used to be the case that a record company would help cover losses from playing gigs.
Most can make more money from being a tribute act.
In the future there won't be any artists capable of selling-out the large venues.
