Yeah, in some places.

Most places outside of the major cities are still pretty racist. Racism here is starting to spread again with the anti-Islam stuff that has been re-appearing since the rise of IS.

Also the immigration topic keeps gaining publicity with the economy stalling and jobs disappearing. They keep whinging that jobs keep going to people on visas and not to Australians. Which is mainly because a) Aussies are pretty lazy, b) they don't have the skills, experience and qualifications to fit a number of roles, and c) Those that do have the skills and qualifications are heading overseas to Europe/USA.
