Historical rewriting as usual.

They always drag out Spandex Ballet to claim that all pop music was Thatcherist, conveniently ignoring the fact that the most creative and dynamic (let alone popular) bands (and writers, comedians and directors) were mostly from anti-Thatcher roots. Revisionism always plagues these nonsense programmes and you get a kind of shorthand - 70s = glam rock, 80s = New Romantics, 90s = britpop. In reality these "movements" lasted a couple of years at best.
