Puts dad hat on...
I'd recommend Aviva Stand next to the Jarrold, with lots of other kids around. The language is much toned down in that area but also it is linked at pitch level to the entire Jarrold stand, so you can wander up and down before the game, watch both home and away teams warm up close-up (if he is old enough to know who any of the City players are, he might enjoy that, for example) as well as meet up with any friends in the Jarrold (where most casual tickets get sold) as well as an almost guaranteed high five with Captain Canary and Aviva Lemur. Our keepers often sign programmes etc if you catch them as they run out and immediately over to that corner. Might set him up for the match nicely - remember a pen!
Of course, the Jarrold is a better view and has most of these benefits too, but the closer you get to the away fans, the more colourful the language, if you worry about that sort of thing.
Dad hat removed now...
