That's a winger thing too. End product almost always up and down

I dunno if anyone on here can recall 1989/90 - but I'd watch Tony Daley steaming down the wing for Villa, leaving his markers for dead... then producing some nothing ball into the box again and again and again. That's how England got knocked out of Euro 92; we should've been 4 up at half time v Sweden, but Daley had kept messing up the final ball, and we collapsed in the second half.

Real quality wide players - like John Barnes in the late 80s - just don't come along very often. In our case, even Foxy would have his on days and his off days. And Mark Rivers in Cardiff had me tearing my hair out all afternoon.

Before lurd and avenging canary pop up to complain, all I'm saying is: what's happening with Redmond is normal. He still has time on his side; still has plenty of time to mature. But he has defensive duties in this team, which he's doing very well overall.
