Last time we were here the three above the bottom three at this stage got regulated and all three in the bottom three stayed up.

But Villa are gone already and Sunderland - pace Allerdyce - will join them. At this point I'd have to back Swans and Muff to do enough to survive and I think we will. We're still learning as a group but we're not that far off good enough for lower-middle: a new RB and new CB would do us and Naismith would be a great signing if it comes off. I'm not convinced on Bam-Bam - I can't see him starting ahead of Mbokani or Jerome or Grabban as a lone striker and I can't see us playing two up top any time soon. Newcastle will be unlucky but I think they will go down and we will be 15th or 16th or so.
