That's a nice story

But Balls has a deeply unimpressive CV. Apart from a short stint as a junior journalist on the FT, he's never had a job. He had zero business experience. All he's ever done is politics, at which he's not very good. Was a Gordon Brown boot boy to get rid of Blair (that went well). One junior ministerial post under Brown (Schools and Families). One of Brown's key election strategists for 2010 (that went well too). Then a key part of the Labour team under Miliband, which went so well they gave the conservatives a straight majority against all odds and he lost his own seat.

The guy isn't even second rate. The only decent thing on his cv is a first in PPE at Oxford.

Plus he's going to be seriously part time, given his Harvard job.

A football club is a BUSINESS. It's a commercial enterprise. Balls has no experience of business or commerce AT ALL. He's an economic theorists and an unsuccessful politician. When you compare him to Bowkett ... Well, there's just no comparison in business terms.

This is a ridiculous appointment.
