...if you expected anything different?

Given the reception to the prequel films, and how much Disney paid for this franchise, doing anything other than re-hashing the 3 successful films was going to be highly unlikely, no? Why take the risk of being original when all you want is a cash cow?

Anyway, it's not as though the original 3 were actually any good from a story/plot/character development perspective. (And how ROTJ got away with ewoks I'll never know. I kind of feel sorry for the hate Jar Jar Binks gets, when bears with stick weapons beating imperial weaponry pretty much get a free pass.)

Star Wars is X Wings vs Ties, with a few blaster and light sabers duels thrown in. That's about as developed as it gets.

And that's completely fine in my book!
