my suggestion would to get a new one. although it's virtually impossible to tell without looking at it, even if it's a simple problem it will cost you upwards of ?70-80 and the problem may still not be resolved or may only still last for a few months more.

the main problem when people use laptops is they don't ventilate well and overheat which can cause all sorts of problems. people put them on a flat surface when what you really need to do is put it on some kind of grate so the bottom doesn't overheat.

my desktop pc is 2 yrs old and was running really hot and kept locking up and shutting down. i took it apart an meticulously cleaned it with a dry small paintbrush to get rid of all the dust. made all the difference.
