The way I see it is that we are not overall a bad side.

Villa are poor, Newcastle have been poor but have achieved the odd result, Sunderland have been poor and are slowly improving. We have, on the whole, played some great football but have been let down by some stupid mistakes - some of these mistakes are down to our defence and these issues are being addressed; it's just taken some time to establish the best way of addressing these. Dropping Ruddy has been a bold move and it has paid off - on his form, he would not have saved the shots that Rudd made yesterday.

Goals are an issue lately but they haven't always been this season. I think we will come good.
