In the Champs we hit top form with Whits at RB playing behind Redmond. Their creative link up play was great and caused the opposition lots of problems. This continued at Sunderland and in a few of our early games in the PL before Whits' lack of pace and defensive steel became a well known Achilles heel for the opposition to exploit. In the meantime our new Left side "functional unit" has developed nicely. Redmond has struggled in the last few games, but it's not all down to him. I don't think we have an adequate PL standard RB at the club. The 3 we do have will do a job for us, in different ways, but what we need is the best of all 3 rolled into 1. Fullback is probably the one position where we could afford to sign real quality, better than what we've got. A top RB capable of forming a close partnership with Redmond should be on the January shopping list. In the meantime, I'd continue with Martin at RB because he is marginally better than Wisdom and he's the best captain we have.
