agree Butland had a great day

but also, with the chances we created there should have been a couple where he wasn't given a chance of making a save. The finishing was poor (ditto the Palace game, even allowing for the fact that we conceded three goals at home through hopeless defending).

I don't think we intended to play hoofball on Saturday - we just played badly. It happens to all teams. That was the problem earlier in the season - teams like Newcastle and Sunderland were doing badly because they were in the spell where they were playing badly (i.e. they could - and probably would - play better). We were doing badly (not as badly as them, but still not great) in the spell when we were pretty much agreed to be playing well. So when we have our turn to play badly (which fortunately so far we haven't too often, although the West Brom game springs to mind) we get Saturday and have no chance.
