Well - since the Premier League really changed after 1995, when we've come up

Those foreign players we've signed have, for the most part, been mercenaries who didn't improve us. Not in every case I know, but many. Why is that?

Because we only seem able to attract those sorts of players. Those with better attitudes seem put off coming here because we're out of the way, off the beaten track.

Meca's made the point before that gambles like Van W or Fer remain the only options open to us - but the club, naturally, is once bitten, twice shy. It can't afford to just throw money around on gambles who mess everything up if they don't work out.

The location problem then restricts our ability to grow, means ambitious managers see us as a stepping stone, nothing more, and limits our ability to attract big name managers with big name contracts and recruitment power. It's a vicious circle.
