I don't think the fans are reconciled to just how long term a job it is to gradually develop in this league. That means that we ourselves contribute to things ultimately going wrong.

Not that it's easy, mind you - football fanbases are living, breathing, unpredictable organisms. Sometimes something indefinable just clicks on a particular day (often an evening game in the rain); on other occasions, the atmosphere can be dead. Or worse than dead: angry.

The elephant in the room in the whole of English football is fans demanding their side get the ball early, screaming at players to hoof it and be direct. The elephant in the room at Norwich is that the fans have such difficulty tolerating defensive football.
