The weather patterns are consistent with a global climate change of the like that has been recorded before.
The problem is that it's hard to determine how much of an influence we are having as humans were not around to the extent that we are now the last time a major climate event happened. So we have nothing really to measure it against. Climate change has happened very quickly and suddenly before and its happened over a longer period of time before too. So it's difficult to say.
All I'm saying is that whilst we have the science to determine that we are affecting our climate, it's debatable as to the extent of which it's our fault. It's too hard to tell.
