surely there wasn't anyone who thought there wouldn't still be relegation clauses?

the gap between Prem and Championship money is still huge, and we have to be prepared for the realistic possibility of relegation.
Without relegation clauses we would have to offer significantly lower basic wages so that relegation wouldn't cripple us, so I don't see how our recruiting power would be enhanced.
